Summer in Johannesburg
Defined as: that brief interlude of relative warmth between the frigid winter and the onset of the crappy rainy season.
Born and bred Johannesburgers love to say they have "the best weather in the country".
Poor fools, they've never had the pleasure of experiencing long hot summers with endless clear blue skies unsullied by dark rain clouds on a daily basis. Imagine growing up like that!

In response, let me share one of my favorite weather quotes - being a lover of the sullied blue skies: "Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain."(~Author Unknown)
Quite correct, ha ha ;)
Oh you Natalians! Nuffink wrong with JHB summer, nuffink wrong!
But it was much better when the rain only lasted an hour a day, and came in the form of an awesome thunderstorm.
Soft drizzles that last for days belong in the UK!
Jeeez! You're talking about NATAL!!!!!!!! I thought you were making some kind of ironic comment about California.
Jeepers, dude. Natal! Sheesh! You WERE being ironic!
Who would wanna grow up being baked alive in a miasma of humidity and Berg winds and sticky-gooey sweat???
Blue skies
love
Roy
Talking about the Cape actually - specifically the Karoo. Even Cape Town, before the more recent climate changes. Essentially any place that gets winter and not summer rainfall. Miserable as the Cape winters can be, at least you get it all at once, and summer is left clear skied and warm for months on end. Bliss :)
